At first, there’s nothing. Then… a texture, a tone, a movement. A small suggestion of something taking form. It doesn’t arrive fully shaped, but drifts in slowly, like the first light through a curtain or the breath before a note is sung.

There is no fixed beginning, only a sensation that something has started.

It could be a material responding to touch, or the pulse of a memory surfacing without clarity. These are the moments that come before intention, before the idea becomes fixed, before the image settles. A soft unfolding. A rhythm that hasn’t yet found its pattern.

In this space, hesitation is not a weakness, but a kind of wisdom, a quiet permission to not yet know. These beginnings are felt rather than understood. Not quite memory, not yet meaning, just the fragile space where something might emerge, and the quiet willingness to follow it.
